AuthFW is designed with flexibility in mind. The current version of the framework offers all basic features that are required for an operational identity network. Future developments are already planned and are focussed on offering more elements in the network, new and innovative offline account storage features as well as support for additional authentication methods. Expansion of the framework can and will happen throughout the total framework.

Online

Because the information exchange within the framework enables specialized services to connect to the Backend, new services can and will be developped around the framework identity of the user. Think of a framework wide credit system, a messaging system, automatic email aliassing with digitally signed email services, and so on. Note that adding these services to the framework, it is in no way necessary to change anything at all at the WebService adapters.

Offline

On the other side it is very well possible for a user to maintain part of its profile information in an offline storage space. Cozmanova is already developping support for offline USB tokens so a user can link its framework account to the user attributes that are stored in his or her pocket. Also more and more authentication methods are planned to be supported for use with the framework.
